Nancy and Michael enhanced the backdrop of a sunlit field with do-it-yourself props, bringing to their engagement session with photographer Danielle Capito initials decorated in mismatched fabric and a handmade bouquet of succulents and white roses. “Michael, being the sweet person he is with me, held the flowers as I worked in putting the bouquet together,” Nancy told Pretty Little Weddings. “I had so much fun during the e-session. Michael is so goofy and is always making me laugh, and Danielle did such a wonderful job in capturing many of those moments.”

Jessica and Glen had passed on Sakonnet Vineyard as their wedding venue—logistically, the bride to be said, it just didn’t work. But its grassy knolls and climb-worthy trees still held a special place in the couple’s hearts and so, they held their engagement session with photographer Rebecca Arthurs on the grounds. “We wanted to do it somewhere that had meaning for us, and that had a wide variety of places to take pictures” Jessica said. “We walked all over the property and found a bunch of great spots. We brought a picnic and bought some wine at the vineyard, and honestly, Rebecca did the rest!”

Josh wanted pictures of pictures. It made no sense to Allie—a photographer—but she snapped away at the images he laid out in a line along the sand. “I got to the last picture and right as I went to click my camera, I saw the box sitting there,” Allie told Pretty Little Weddings. “I chucked my camera in the sand—my professional camera, may I remind you—and I asked him about 20 times, ‘Is this really happening?’” She eventually said yes, Allie said, and began to plan their vintage-inspired engagement session with Alex of Just Alex Photography. “Our whole wedding is vintage and it’s going to be in a wood barn, so I wanted our engagement session to fit the pictures,” Allie said. “The location was actually Josh’s boss’ farm. It had old run down cars everywhere, junk sitting out, a perfect dirt path—I loved it.”

Nikki and Benjamin love all things outdoors, said their engagement session photographer Courtney Bowlden—whether it’s hiking, biking or long boarding, the couple loves to play outside. For their engagement session, “we just walked around and drove to a local field,” Courtney said. Nikki sported her favorite red Toms, while Benjamin showed off his tattoos. “They have so much love and passion for each other, I really didn’t have to tell them what to do at all,” she said.
